On page or off page optimization is important?

I usually say that's it's all about the off-page optimization of your site (i.e. backlinks).

20% content, 80% backlinks, depending on which niche you're in. At least this one seems to work for my affiliate sites

 

On page and Off page both techniques are very important. On page means you are doing the work in your own site and in Off page you are doing the work on other's site. On page optimization are relevant keywords, titles, meta tag and many more, Off page are forum posting, blog commenting, article submission, directory submission and social bookmarking.

 

Both of them are rendered useless when done alone. First you should make your site presentable to both humans and search engines and then spread the word around the web.

agree with everyone else, both are important. More work to do but more you gain.

 

for starting Search engine optimization firstly need on page work, by which we can analyse content according the keywords which we want to target for search engine or find out title key words from its content which should include in content with 2%-4.5% . after than need synchronization these key words in every page's meta tags description,keywords and title with limitation..after than we should start off page.

 

both are really important... but as per as my opinions On-page 40% and Off-page 60%.
