I am quite confused with this onpage optimization. Really need help!! See, Like I want to target the keyword "Teen Magazine" Now, it is said that in onpage optimization, if you use these keywords in your content sometimes, it helps boost your ranking right? It should not look spammy but just in general reading, use it a few times in paragraphs and you will receive ranking benefits. So, my question here is that, Do I have to mention these 2 words together to be counted as keyword mentioned once! ? Or I can mention these 2 separately also. Please see examples : - Example 1 - Teen Magazine wants to suggest all of you teens that don't get too much obsessed over love and dating. Example 2 - Our Magazine wants to suggest a teen that getting obsessed over love and dating is not right. Now you see at above examples ^^. Are these considered same? Or the example one is necessary to receive onpage optimization benefits? Same goes for title tags : - I am targeting 3 keywords - Teen Help, Teen Forums, Teen Advice To receive benefits for these, since title tag is most important, do I have to mention all 6 words like : - Teen Help | Teen Advice | Teen Forums OR I can say like this : - Teen Forums | Teen Help & Advice Please help me!
Both of your examples will appear in Google when 'Teen Magazine' is typed in. However when searched in brackets only example 1 will be counted as a result. Example 1 doesn't make sense as a general sentence so I am guessing 'teen magazine' is the company name whereas example 2 is a general summary of what the magazine offers. I would concentrate on example 1 as #2 will come naturally when talking about a teen magazine. As for the title tags, 'Teen Help | Teen Advice | Teen Forums' seems alright.
Thanks for suggestions. But when in title tag case, I think I am over using the word teen and also in the site in general, the word teen comes everywhere. I wanted to target a keyword "Teen Chat" So I thought to shift it like - Teen Forums | Teen Chat | Teen Help & Advice
Yeah sounds good. Your still using the word 'teen' three times though. Just letting you know incase you wanted to decrease the number
The other thing to think about is key-phrase cannibalisation. This happens when you have one or more pages that could potentially rank for the same key-phrase. So for instance - in the example you provide above you would not necessarily want the configuration on every single page of your site. You might have it on your main-page - but then establish separate sub-pages that are optimised for only one of those key phrases. Dylan
I think this one would be fine: Teen Help | Teen Advice | Teen Forums Yahoo looks more at the title tags than does Google, both look at incomming link text to decide what a page is about. I would have the 3 phrases at least once in the body, but no more than 6% of the page text should have the word "teen"
But its a forum and so it works only if people come to the homepages. Inner pages are only threads and forums. But thanks I will try something I know its pretty confusing like what to do Thanks. I think right now its over obsessedly used, and I did not even realised
