    Hi All,

Does Google Humming bird target On Page Optimization. I mean does it target keyword in headings, web page content like that?

    Please guide.

hummingbird was more an update for users experience, not for some ranking algorithm changes

Hummingbird is actually focused more on Google's ability to understand the semantics of a user's search query.

What is meant by this is that, for any given search term, Google wants to understand the true meaning behind what the user is searching. This is why people often recommend ensuring high quality content on your site.

DO NOT try to write articles or website copy for Hummingbird!

I repeat... DO NOT try to write articles or website copy for Hummingbird!

Look, the Humminbird algo is trying to understand user intent and return websites that match the search query, right? Well then instead of trying to 'write for hummingbird', instead write for the user!

Try to get inside your target audiences mind... what questions do they have about your industry, products or services? What problems do they have?

Get a list and write REALLY good content that answers these needs and solves problems for the searchers.

By doing this, by producing excellent content that solves problems for real users in your industry, you stand a good chance of being one of the websites that Google returns in the search results... Why? Because you'll be relevant, useful and popular.

Hummingbird is trying to return results that best match the intent behind the users search query, so BE THAT WEBSITE. be the most useful, relevant website in an industry ;)
