On my way to $$$, I hope???

Not sure what to expect. But, any insight would be appreciated.


I’ve been lurking around here for about 2 weeks. I’ve been trying to find a way to generate income. Two days ago I created a blog regarding a topic which I am somewhat familiar, but by no means an expert. I have posted five articles to the blog. The only thing else I have done is signed it up for adsense. I got accepted this morning. Not a bad turn around. Only took about 8 hours for my first ad to show from the time I applied.


Anyway, I have had 51 impressions. All of which were by me looking back at the posts after I uploaded them. No ad revenue yet.
Then about 3 hours ago I posted 4 quick 1-3 sentence responses on a bulletin board related to my blog. Within 1 hour I had 5 page impressions and 1 adsense click. I earned $0.85. I don’t have a clue if this is good or not, but I’m excited.


Should I be???

it's a good start. Took me a month to get my first click back in 2007.
Keep posting good quality article, do it 2-3 times a day.
You will see significant result if you hit 1000+ uv/day

 

1 click for .85 sounds really good to me. seems a little on the high side must have some good keywords

 

I agree, You had $0.8 for the first time, it is absolutely a bloody good start.. Just keep it updated

 

Well all good things must come to an end. Or shall we say what goes up must come down.

I got that msg from a mod shortly after I noticed I had earned the $0.85.

Oh well, one door closes, another opens. I think I have come up with another way to create traffic. Wish me well.

 

In terms of back links, suppose I comment about relevant topics on websites/blogs that parallel my website and within those comments I link back to my website by creating a link in the post, would google consider that a backlink in terms of SEO????

 

I think you are on the right track. Try to advertise your website more efficiently.

Thanks for the words of encourgement. Since my last post, I have found two blogs that relate to mine that allow links (thanks Comment Kahuna). I posted a couple of relevant comments. Hopefully they'll pass the mods. I have my fingers crossed.
