My account MilesB was suspended from DigitalPoint regarding this topic.

I had been asking for link exchanges with sites, in return I would link them sitewide on my own website.

I use rel=nofollow on all my current links as that was my own choice however because I myself created the topic asking for link exchanges I would not use the rel="nofollow tag as I would trust the sites I linked with.

I made a trade with user inaga. However when adding his link I accidentally followed the same URL linking as I had done with previous outboud links and used rel="nofollow. Hence he made a post in my topic telling me to remove it. Then came another user ORZ, who start slandering my name and calling me a fraud. After reading the topic I then replied to them both and removed the rel="nofollow in the hyperlink on my site. As shown, the user inaga was happy with my fix. But for some reason or another my colleague who works on my site did not download the updated file changes from site and therefore updated the index with the rel="nofollow tags still there. Unfortunately I was late to see this and inaga seemed to have reported me thus leading in my ban on Digital Point Forums

In my defence, I would like to say that I hav been a member on the forums for several years and I have never participated in any malevolent exchanges. I have a good iTrader score with no negatives. I feel that it would not be worth it if I were to "scam" a user of his website link. I know that the whole situation was a major misunderstanding and slow acting on my part. However the user involved in the trade jumped to the wrong conclusion as he was fed wrong information but a non-pariticipant in the trade, user ORZ.

I also received several infraction emails saying I had bumped the thread which lead to my ban. I never made a double-post however after the first link exchange with the user with several directories I posted to say I pmed him then deleted it as I recently received and infraction for making posts like that and each time I posted it was to defend myself publically and not resolve it within PM as I wanted to keep the topic open and therefore leaving the problem unresolved on public view would ruin my reputation.

I hope after reading this you can see that I value my membership on Digital Point and would never scan, disobey the rules, or do anything to put my account in jeopardy.
