On all traffic Resources what does it mean when our own website URL has the word “/referral” after it? Does it mean that people typed our website URL straight on the address bar and went to our website? But would it not be considered direct traffic?

It most likely means one of the pages on your site doesn't have proper analytics tags. Do you have multiple subdomains?

no it doesn't mean direct traffic if you getting yourwebsite/referral word in traffic resources report.

some time it happens bz if you get visits from your blog also towards homepage

if your website has both version then it means google boat consider website with www and with out www, separate website in your case likely to have 2 website with same name. so its better for you that please put redirection code into your .htaccess file if you have apache server or put same kind of code for iis server into mode rewrite file.
