    Hi;

Proxy hijack is a known and BIG bug for google but google does not WANT to take action to these cheater sites.

Pls allow me to give and example.

for example look that cheater site http://72.14.205.100/search?q=site:www.schoolsurf.us . This CHEATER has 77.900 indexed pages on google index NOW . this indexed page was 66k ONE WEEK BEFORE. Can you imagine this number after 1 year or two year? google index will be full of hijacked pages:eek:

I have reported this web site 3 times to google spam report but they dont care the quality of search result. The cheater is increasing its indexed pages day by day.

My question is that how to protect ourself from this hijacker

That oughta do it in minutes! What he's doing is infringing on the copyrights of hundreds of people...one DMCA complaint filing and he should be gone. Just my 2 cents.

I guessed it has something to do with profits. That proxy site apparently had adsense on it. The only option for us now is to manually ban 'em one-by-one with htaccess file. BTW, thanks for the site, i just added that cheater to my IPs blacklist.

There's also the reverse-forward DNS lookup solution. It protects you from being hijacked by proxies that do not bother to change the useragent string when requesting pages from your site to pass on to Google as their own.

This solution has been recommended on the official Google webmaster blog. This thread on webmasterworld explains how to set it up on Apache web servers:

Indeed, but I will fight till my last penny. Ban anything that i could grap even their whole host netrange IPs. User agent can be spoofing so ban the IPs if you could.

wake up it's not schoolsurf.us's fault, people are submitting other sites to get them penalized for dupe content. Ok it sorta is schoolsurf's fault. All proxie owners should use the NOFOLLOW, NO CACHE tag on their proxied pages.

Otherwise they're contributing to the problem and they're liable for punitive damages - all it takes is for someone to come along and sue you for caching their content (which is illegal without permission, google gets away because they now have a -no cache tag), but proxy owners won't get off so easily.

Looks like they may of been dealt with, visiting a proxied (ripped) page or even the real homepage brings up:

Resource Error: An error has occured while trying to browse through the proxy.
We sorry, our service is currently not available.

it's schoolsurf.us & google's fault because google has become so stupid search engine. it crawls and index those types of web sites. and it's schoolsurf.us's fault because it has opened that PROXY SITE to cheat from every of us. And for these days , I dont think that people will put NOFOLLOW, NO CACHE to their meta tags because PROXY IS THE OTHER NAME OF CHEATING. People is opening to cheat:mad: Google must solve this problem

yeah, It's giving Resource Error like you mention but if you check the google cache , it's a normal cache. All the other proxy sites are giving that error but their google cache is normal. It's an another example of that GOOGLE HAS BECOME SO STUPID ABOUT PROXY SITES:mad:

If the site is stopped it will take a while for Google to recache and drop the pages. Just keep checking it and hopefully the number of his cached pages will start dropping.

well you could do I want I plan on doing soon, going after each proxy that my site appears. I do a regular check of random sentences on my site. I find lots of proxy copies of my site, and then I store it in a nice little text file and then get whois info for each and send out an e-mail to the address to have the page removed. In some cases they have it removed, otherwise I go after them legally.

Lodge a complaint with their host, and domain and you'll get results. I've had 2 proxy sites hosting shut down because they refused to either remove a cached copy of my site, or they admitted to not caring about caching other peoples content. I try to resolve most cases like this by being friendly, and those are the only 2 cases where the owners were an ass..but serves them right, if you run a proxy use the nofollow tags on cached pages or else you'll have some one chasing after you to do it.
