From 40 to $9.99 i wonder how long will it crash, i already lost some money when it was 24$ something! any similar experiences??
Lost money? Yes, I bought a bunch of .TV names before the price dropped. But, I wouldn't consider it losing money. I consider it getting the better names before the price opened for more people. The price lowering means nothing but GOOD NEWS for the .TV extension and for those who own GOOD .TV names.
You weren't scammed. I also bought them for $24.95, it's good to see them cheaper. Just means that you can buy more of them now for a better price. BTW, which company is it at $9.99? Is it Godaddy?
I was disillusioned with Godaddy's 99-cent .info's. I bought 5-6 of them, but little did I know, the renewals were full price (not 99 cents, also) - whoops
It happens with price drops with such extensions I guess. And yes I would have to agree that the drop is good for all around. But for you to make up the difference, lets hope its a good name that will pull in more than your reg fee. There really is no disillusions when buying promo from registars. There is always fine print going unread. And Godaddy is not the only one that had a promo for .info's. 1and1 had a free 5 .info giveaway. Registerfly who is now bellyup, had promos all the time, last one was for .50 cents. So be glad you arent with RF.
I bought 2 for $14.99, then 1 for $12.99 and today 3 for $9.99. Perhaps I could wait till today to register them all for just $9.99 each (or even wait longer and expect the price will drop even less?). But who could know the price will drop so rapidly? However, I don't regret it. If you find a really good domain that is still available, grab it ASAP. The renewal price for .TVs with GoDaddy is $39.99, but what you can do is to register a .TV for e.g. 2 years and you get it for $19.98 (I've done this with my latest 3 .TVs). Another alternative is to transfer your domain to a registrar that has cheaper renwal fees.
ha ha. Knee slapper on this one. If that is the case than all extensions should be selling for the same price. No coupons required.
I've always prefered .com/.co.uk as people tend to have more intrest in them, a shorter domain isn't always better. For example something like a quarter of uk residents are more likely to click on a .co.uk domain than a .com (some crazy high percentage like 25) Because they feel the information will be more centralised. So do not underestimate the importance of your domain name.
