Yes, but compared to other brands they are expensive. I doubt I would buy a Sony laptop again, I've owned several in the past. I'm looking at that SZ one now, £1200. Its the same processor, ram and HD as an Advent I bought recently.

Can anyone honestly say that the Sony is good value compared to that? You're pretty much paying over twice the price just so you can say you have a Vaio. I'd far rather spend half the cash on a similar spec laptop of a different brand, the sony's are nice and admittedly the build quality of them is slighly better than the cheaper ones, but with computers they go obsolete before they break anyway.

Not just Apple products, I would include Sony's etc for the reasons above, you're just paying extra so that you can say you have whatever brand. And I dont have a negative view on all apple products, my 80gb video ipod is excellent. But I also dont doubt if I could have been bothered I could have found something that done the exact same thing but didnt have an apple logo on it, for probably half the price.

The Mac book air is way over priced, other drawback, no cd/dvd burner/reader, you have to buy it seperate. Specs on it are pretty poor.

LG just came out with a new 13.3" laptop that weighss 2.2 pounds with way better specs for only $1299.99 CAD and it comes with an external cd/dvd burner.
