At First I thought Bidding directories were just a scam,Then only I came to realised about the importance of bidding directories.

Bidding directories gives you (quality links+traffic).

Bidding directories can even stand on their own with or without Google as their main aim is to drive quality traffic to the website and provide quality information to the visitors.

    Just see Google adwords,

We can say it as a scam(Google adwords) as they do not look into quality of the websites or (even title/content of the websites) running adwords campaign they simply look into whether website's ad conforms to some standarads like no url in title etc.,

But on other hand Bidding directories gives you traffic

Instead of General Bidding directories ,directory owners can bring out some specific niche bidding directories which will be more useful from visitor's point of view and also traffic.

Agree 100%. I do not think anyone has their site on Bigweblinks.com's home page for PR juice.

Well... if they are, then they paid an arm and a leg for it

I can buy PR7 links for $50 bucks all day long

    BUT that traffic is Priceless

Why do you think the adult community said piss on PR will take the traffic instead
Adult webmasters laugh at PR (as its irrelevant to them) as they make thier money threw clicks

    thx

As long as your directory is well maintained with good editorial integrity, you have nothing to worry about.

You people are dreaming or simply in total denial if any of you truly believe that bidding directories are within Google's guidelines.

The money well is drying up. Face it.

What makes you say this? I have thought about this a lot, and I truly do not see anything wrong with them.

    1) The ones I am talking about are categorized with real categories just like a normal directory.

    2) When I bid on a directory, I am not doing so for PR, and I suspect most other people aren't either since the majority of them do not even have PR (especially on the internal pages) at this point. I believe most people bid for traffic and recognition. It has already been discussed in numerous threads that the top bidding directories sent considerably real traffic that is valuable.

    3) As I mentioned earlier, the only difference between a bidding directory and any other directory is the way it is sorted. If someone does not care about their position, they can bid the minimum amount, and then forget about it.

    4) As with any other directory, listings should be properly reviewed and the directory should have editorial integrity. This is one area where some of them need to be careful --- the ones that accept listings automatically. However, those can still be reviewed, and all bid directories should not be generalized (stereotyped) since not all are like this. Some of us manage the directories very carefully, just like any other.

Minstrel, I surely don't seek an argument with you. I am just providing information as I see it and hope that you will consider and understand my (and probably other's) point of view. Now... With all that being said, I am not saying that some of them are not bad, just as any other directory or site type. However, I don't think you can group them all together and judge them the same.
