OMG I think I am going to be sick. I can't believe I missed it!

Ok, so for the last 3 hours I have been browsing on Godaddy Auctions. Found some pretty decent PR domains. Then I modify my search to show some different things...

Guess what pops up as an available closeout domain? That was for sale for $8... iphonestore.org.........

"iPhone Store" get's 14,800 exact searches per month in google. The domain is 4 years old, and the BUY IT NOW was $8 freaking dollars.

I wanted to do one last check. I wanted to make sure it wasn't sandboxed in google, so I go to google and type it in... It's not sandboxed!

I go back over to godaddy to add it to cart... Somebody beat me too it, the auction was no longer available. I searched for the domain again, it's gone..

This makes me sick. If I wouldn't of checked it in google, I would of had iphonestore.org. Anyone who knows seo, and knows much about affiliate marketing realizes the potential for this domain.

    Naww sorry to hear that.

I have a similar annoyance right now, in that a domain i am trying to register is in holding as someone else has initiated registration, but has not yet paid :( I have to wait till they either pay, or their time runs out.

    Sux :(

Be glad you didn't get it. Why do you want to have TM domain and get sued by Apple. It will cost you way more money and headache than you will ever make from affiliate commissions.

if you get sued by apple, and if you
are american, case gets dropped because
    apple ceo is not american.

if you get sued by facebook though, trust me
you get at least 38 years in federal prison.

Be happy that you missed the domain name.. If not, you could be sued and it could even destroy your life..

Well, the domain is like 4 years old, and the owner was never contacted. Either way, I missed it.

You should've done an extra check after that to see if the name was in fact TMed

I'd say count your blessings that someone else liked TM domains & likes to potentially get sued by Apple. Hope they have deep pockets.

Yes, you would've had the domain & you would maybe have a lawsuit from Apple in the near future. Do you have lots of money to spend on a lawsuit & payment for damages if you get sued?

Same thing happened to me a few years ago, I forget the name I found but it was great. Next minute someone had purchased it, I was gutted.

I need anyone's help to enlighten me about domains. I'm new here.

I also used the KeyWord tool in google and typed "iPhone Store". I get 301,000 Monthly searches and Local searches. Why does QuickFreeHost say it is 14,800 only?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can explain.
