I just came across this site http://www.419eater.com will peeking a Alexa movers and shakers. Seems there is an online sport of fucking around with those nigerian scam artists that send all those stupid spam emails about transfering large sums of money out of their homeland. blah blah blah These guys respond to the email, get a back and forth discussion going, to earn their trust (and waste the scammers time) then get the scammer to send them a photo as a trophy. You've got to read some of the baits. Site users post their email conversations and then post the photo of their trophy. Baiters scam the scammers into sending a photo where they are holding a sign with some text pre-sent in the baiters email. Because of language differences, the baiters end up getting the scammers to write some realy stupid and funny shit on those signs. I laughed my ass off reading this bait http://www.419eater.com/html/jonathan_luthman.htm After getting the photo trophy this baiter continues to lead the scammer on by showing a fake flight booking to Nigeria. Because he was going to meet with them personaly to do the transaction. Baiter tried to get them to book and pre-pay for his hotel when he arrived. Keep up the good work Scambaiters. The forum is huge, too.
Lol that took me like 2 hours to read, seriously. It was funny though I did something like this as well, but I ended it after a few emails because I got bored.
I wasted 4 hours reading a few of them. I cant belive some of the things they have conned the scammers into doing. They have been doing this for a few years and are getting better and better at it. The better trophies have them getting the scammer to get tattoo's and send photo evidence of the tattoo being done and the final product. One guy managed to con a scammer into sending nude photos. They some times end up getting money out of these idiots. $700 in one case. This, of course , is as illegal as what the scammers are doing, but they donate the money to charity instead of keeping it. Plus they make them jump through so many hoops and waste the scammers time, for weeks. Getting them to go to western union to pick up money that, of course was never sent. Get them to meet them in places, they of course (the baiters), never show up. Great stuff
I came across it a few months back and also laughed my ass off... It's hilarious. Almost tempting to participate as well though it's like carying water to the sea, as we'd say in Holland. Waste of time besides the entertainment factor. There are some well funny pics in there.
Oh this is too funny. I never thought I could begin to fill sorry for the 419 scammers, but boy if anything could make me feel sorry for them what these scammer baiters are doing could.... maybe only for a brief moment. Oh it does my heart good to see scammers like the 419 scammers get scammed.
Yeah I came across this while reading about the most famous P-P-P-Powerbook scam. < -- That my friend is an absolute classic
I just noticed on DP's user map that there was an unregistered "guest" from Nigeria viewing these forums. Do you think it could be one of the 419 scammers going "oh Sh..! I've been had."
lol Reverend Eminem and David Semen. That's funny. HA HA HA. It says phil mycrackin with semen. That is hilarious.
Scammer baiters reminds me of a slogan idea I had for a blogging network. 'Stop blogging with yourself.' I ended up rejecting that idea...I thought it was a little inappropriate.
