Omaha Spammer Could Get 3 Years, $250K fine

    I can't believe some guy would actually do this from within the US where he could be charged under the Federal Can-Spam Act of 2003.

    I have a post about this on my blog at http://www.thorschrock.com, but the short version is that he falsified headers to hide his identity and sent thousands of emails over a three month period. A University of Nebraska Omaha cyber security guy appears to have given authorities what the need to nail this guy.

    Nice to see one of them caught!

    he was obviously sending emails without having the recepients opt in, jail time I guess only because of the type of info he was sending.
