I would like to start working on this site agian. Is it worth using this domain or better to get a new one and try again?

I think it is better to work on older one since it has already PR 1, and SE's give some importance to the domain and site age as well, If you are going to create new site with new domain name it will hault in google sandbox and also you have to wait for the next update.

Etechsupport is right, you should use the older domain name because:-

    (1) The Search Engines value the domain age in Search Results
    (2) The domain already has PR.

Definitely keep the domain name and keep working with it. Starting over is going to be the same really except you are going to spend more money getting another name. If you are considering another name, then you can always point the original name to the new name to display your page. Hope this helps a little.......
