I have never really paid much attention to this untill recently. When I goto check serp results for certain keywords I sometimes see older cache results instead of the current ones it was showing a few days earlier. Whats up with that and why does it occur?

google will refresh it when it visits your site for the next time. you msut wait google to visit your page again. if you want to speed it, you need more backlinks

also, different Google datacenters may have different versions of your page cached, so the cached page you see depends on which datacenter is handling your search.

I've seen it too. You'll get a nice, fresh cache date and a couple days later it is rolled back to a previous cached version.

Perhaps we are hitting different data centers.

Well I was just curious as it seems about every 2-3 days in the last 3-4 weeks as I have made quite a few site changes and updates. It just allarmed me to see older cache results after seeing current. I see different cache results and they can either be a new and updated version or rollback to the old. I was not sure that this was indicative of something wrong.
