Well that depends on the quality of the movies. For example comedy movies of 20th century are way better the the old one but old movies like God Father and Taxi driver, they are rare and this statement fits the best on them "Old is Gold".. I like watching old movies just to have a message and family life mostly related and culture. The new films are killing.I scrap and time not spending a dime for any new movies now.
I can't stand any of these 3D movies. I thought even Avatar was rubbish. I really hope 3D movies don't catch on, they prioritise action and kids scenes over actualy dialogue and screenplay.
As a personal taste I like older movies, not that old around 1980's to 2001. I'm finding new movies are becoming more generic espcially in the horror film genre. Best recent movie I have seen was Inception.
Old Movies or New movies does not matter with me,mainly the story or acting are main part on the movies.
I'm a big musical theatre fan so OLD old movies (like in the era of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Grace Kelly) will always hold a special place in my heart.
1985 to 1995 called " Golden Years" for movies and songs,my heart want to go back in these days, so my choice these are best
If you want special effects and guys shooting 500 rounds with one revolver watch new movies. If you want a decent storyline and people who know how to act , try a classic.
You mean old movies vs old movies? A lot of the movies being made right now have already been done and they are even doing this with TV. I prefer old classics, up until mid 90's. Alfred Hitchcock movies are kind of cheesy, but they are fun to watch and the Actors were so much more talented and more glamorous. Wizard of Oz for that time had great effects the color, the horse that changed color? Then you have 80's classics like The Goonies, Stand By Me, Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Indiana Jones, Revenge of The Nerds, these movies were so much more entertaining compared to what I see today and the people who created them had awesome imaginations and good humor. Even the cheesy movies from the past were more entertaining to watch then what is out right now. They are more memorable. There is not as much creativity as there use to be. Special effects can go either way, there can be too many and it can ruin a film (example: 2012). Transformers, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter these are great movies with awesome effects and decent and some very good actors, directors, writers etc.
