So my old webdesign and development forums have completely gone to the s@#$$%r. I stopped paying for vBulletin since it was purchased by some company and stopped caring for my forums. I tried to sell the site here, but it didnt work. So I'm now stuck with a site over-run by spammers and out-dated software. What are some of my options here?
you can update it to the latest 3.8 for like 30$ or 10 or 20 more.. idk for sure also there are spam mods for 3.7... so what are you asking or offering here, do you want to sell the forum/domain? if so, shoot me a pm
Close it down, block any SE spiders from crawling it, do a cleansing/purge, re-do everything and then you can either start again or sell it.
i dunno if i want to start again. a lot of those threads still get pretty decent traffic. i rather sell it and cover my costs i think
Then you'll have to clean it, I'm afraid. Don't close it down but a general spam cleaning would do the trick.
