Axelis has had some changes. First, we've instituted some features to keep the spam out like visual confirmation and checking for banned words etc. upon submission. Also, we've changed it to a pay for inclusion directory. Now there is a one time only fee of $2.50 for inclusion.

Our stats are looking up, while our PR took a hit, down to 3 from 5 at the last update, our uniques have about tripled over the past couple of weeks. It seems that as we weeded out the spam and cleaned up the directory the search engines seem to like it a lot better. Things are looking up, and will probably get much better soon. You might want to get a link now while it's still cheap!

Are you aware that you have over 1,000 links on a single page (under travel)? i think you need to do a little more cleaning up before asking for paid submissions.

Indeed! This is only list of things to do, but I have to admit I wasn't aware that the travel directory had grown that large! There's been just too much stuff to fix. I'll probably work on that tonight, not really that hard of a thing to fix.

Ok, I fixed that fubar in the code. Now all pages will list only 30 links and then have a link on to the next set of 30. This should make things look a lot better to the bots, and should also increase my indexed pages as well. I'm actually kind of red faced about it, I should have thought of that before.
