Would anyone care to shoot Adsense an e-mail? If not, just give me their e-mail address and I will post the reply here. :)

Tested on one of my sites (several selected pages) since yesterday, so far from what I can see, there are indeed noticeable increment in term of CPC for those pages. I will monitor for another few days before making any judgement.

Ethicly, I do not see google doing that unless STRICTLY letting us know that there would be an effect as such...it doesnt seem right to do that to respectable publishers. just my thoughts.

My sites use the new codes.

And my earning drops like a rock since end of Dec till today.

I think old code isn't the reason for the bad performance lately.

I am using the old code and doing just fine. In fact, my earnings have recently INCREASED. I don't have any problem using the old code.

My earnings appear to have increased today, so I am uncertain as to the validity of this theory as I am using the older codes.

Why not do half and half... Run new adsense code on a couple of ad panels and keep the old ones in place.

hmm.. same here. getting same CTR but much lower returns... could be a January effect rather than code related tho

i dont think that the change in eCPM is due to the old code or the new code. I think it is due to the fact that because of googles recent changes to the ads, people have to click directly on the URL for it to be counted as a click, which would cause the ctr to go down greatly.
