Okay Or Not To Build Up A Website With Drops Domain?

    Hello Fellow DP'ers,

    Recently, i bought a domain name without realizing that name was registered few years ago. Well, i never check domain history before buy them. Today, i don't know why i have an instinct to check that name history via whois.domaintools and end up found somethings. My domain "registrar history, 4 registrars with 3 drops". I'm not sure what that's mean. Then i start googling but can't find any best answer. So, here's my questions;

    1. Is it okay that name has 3 drops?
    2. Will this 'domain drops' thing affect my search engine ranking?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you so much for taking some of your time to read my thread. [IMG]

    Regards.

    No, it shouldn't affect your SEO efforts at all. Just make sure the domain was never used for anything illegal or shady, as that COULD affect your rankings.

    People buy dropped domains all the time, it doesn't matter.

    Hey,

    I'm glad to hear that. :)
    Well, i did some researched from various sources and checked back the domain history and found that previous owners never develop real site under the domain i bought. They leaved it on parked domain page. ( i found 3 different domain parking page screenshot under that domain )

    Funny thing is, i just realized i bought 3 names without realizing those are dropped domains. lol :D

    By the way, thanks for your post. Much appreciated.

    Regards.

    Don't worry about it because drop domain not necessary bad domain name . Might be previous owners do not know how to optimize it . When the domain came with new website and content, Google will crawl you with as a new website so you do not worry with it .

    What you need to consider when purchase a domain name where you need to confirm that the domain name do not drop into google sandbox before.
