Hi all, OKARA: Ammar Afzal a son of the soil, has earned dignity and honour for the nation by winning first global position in Stanford University England's (SUE) World Computer Soft ware Course. The tribute was paid by the Commissioner Sahiwal Division Tariq Mehmood Khan in a press conference, to Ammar Afzal the 15 years old ninth class student of the District Public School & College this morning. He said, the chief minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif had been encouraging the students on all level to do the best and had been doing a lot to raise the standard of education in the province. He said, the CM's revolutionary measures had started bearing fruit and the children of the nation had been making world records in the field of modern education and training. The DCO Sohail Shahzad, former MPA Muhammad Arif Chaudhry, Principal DPS &C Firdous Ahmad, vice principal Muhammad Muzahar, Khalil Ahmad computer trainer, other staff, the father of Ammar Afzal and relatives were present at the occasion. The SUE had taken over the computer expertise of Ammar from the Brainbench, and he would fly to England for higher studies in his field on 1st May, 09, on scholarship from SUE. Speaking at the occasion Ammar Afzal told that his Internet Training Mr Simond had challenged him in an angry mood to solve some question, and had pledged that if he succeeded to solve these questions within, Mr Simond would resign from his job. Ammar solved the computer soft ware riddles within an hour. He got 4.99 marks out of 5 in the test which was a world record. Mr Simond stuck-up to his pledge and resigned . Ammar said that he would always maintain deep regard for Mr Simond as a teacher though he might be angry with him, as he had gained a lot from him. The commissioner awarded him with a one lakh rupee cheque in acknowledgement of making world record. He also recommended his name for further endowments from the CM Punjab.
