i run a bunch of financial/stock trading sites... that have adsense on them.. but I want to advertise some male enhancement products on those sites.... will google adsense ban me if I put a link to male enhancement pills on those trading sites ?
If you make money with adsense i would not put the link on any page with it. Not sure if it is against terms but sounds like it would be. I do not know if it will make many sales on your site because your topic is not geared toward it.
well, but if you think about it... stock traders might be one of the best targeted visitor for male enhancement products... think about it.. stock traders are usually older men... with a lot of money... and when a trade goes their way, they tend to get really pumped up about it... seems like the perfect complimentary sale...
And if they have email (which I assume they would since they are online) they probably get 500 of those bleeping spam mails a day and likely ignore them or would have already ordered. To me it cheapens a site to see irrelevant ads.
well I agree with your points.. but then on that logic, those male enhancement and viagra commercials they play on the msnbc network cheapen their news network too... I don't know if cnn shows those commercials too.. but a few networks sure do.. why is online given such a bad rap about advertising these products but the major tv networks do it all the time...
On TV we have come to accept the commercial breaks as being completely separate from whatever program they are in. It's a different story when the ad is right on a page, that would be like having a window at the bottom of the TV screen playing commercials all throughout the program. Aw crap, now I suppose some network is going to do just that.
In the past, I have read that AdSense does not like certain words and will flag your site with those words on the site. They do not like certain adult images either. So, as long as the advertisements does not have those words nor shows adult images then I don't see them having a problem with it, but if it does then you will get a email asking you to remove them.
Or read this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=489255 Several complaints later and the ads are still up on the site. I can only assume that their policies have changed. I'd like to hear clarifications from Google on this, but their inaction says that even with a complaint, they don't act on it anymore. And that means they allow it.
