..the trouble is i am having issues deciding on how much to price the ebook at. It is in the affiliate marketing Niche and from research most of the ebooks in this field go for price for $50 plus. In my opinion i was wanting to charge 14.99 or at the very most 19.99 however i then run the risk of people assuming the quality of the book by the price not by the content and also the lower price will make it hard to attract affiliates. What would people consider a reasonable price to be for a 100 page ebook on affiliate marketing along with 1000s of articles on the topic and a forum in the members section
my suggestion you need to split the book in to 2 portion... make a book a smaller size with 30 pages and another book with 70 pages. the smaller size ebook sell with a lower price and the another sell with a higher price. this should be attractive enough..
It depends on the quality of content you are offering in your ebook. It doesn't matter if it's 100 pages or 1000 pages, if they quality is poor. But then again, great quality for one person may be poor for another one. The key thing is to know who is your target audience? Beginners? Advanced marketers? To know for sure how much is the best price to charge, do a live test. You can use ppc to do this.
I remember the first ebook I bought was the rich jerk and it was only around $10 and that was the only reason I bought it. So if it is designed for beginners you are going to want to keep a low starting price. You could do as Henry suggests and split the product up so you have like a Gold version and a Platinum version. Alternatively you could create an upsell of some sort so charge 'em whatever price for the ebook and then they can pay extra for access to the 'exclusive forum'. You should test the prices as well. See which price converts better.
Really? Which titles are these??? Like you said. If you go too low, and many will think it is cheap. Plus you will attract people who are not serious enough, they want free stuff, so.... Also, if you go too high, many will not want to take the chance and spend that much, thinking that it is just another crap e-book. I would suggest what you stated earlier, around $20. $17 is a figure that attracts many. I don't know why, but it's that "7" that seems to have a play in it. Maybe $27.00??? What really converts is putting in free samples, tips from your e-book, along with putting the ordering form right there in the sales page. So, if you can do that, you may be able to increase your price even more.
Dude it all depends on the quality. I can get a piece of shit book done with 250 pages and charge 500 bucks for it. The point is.. you should only charge the amount of money the information on there represents. Brand New stuff nobody talks about means you can tag it at 97 with no problem. Used stuff about 27 bucks Stuff you can get for free just googleing it: 7 bucks You get the point... Cya in the next month... TheRazor
thanks for the feed back chaps. Yes, the book will be targeted at new users. I consider the primary market for it to be not those of us currently running websites and making money but the people who would like to get into the world of making money online. Maybe because they want a little extra money in the evening, to help them get through college. With that in mind the manner in which it is written would be considered a little 'basic' for the experienced user. The book is essentially in 5 parts - introduction and definitions on web marketing - How to join affiliate networks - How to find the best programs within the networks to promote, the ones which don't always pay the highest commissions but will get you the most sales - how to build a website for these programs - how do get traffic to the website i agree with the comments on the pricing people have mentioned. The route i will probably take is to make it about $9.97 which will not put people off then. Comes down to the marketing theory used by Walmart of stack it high and sell it cheap and make volumes (hopefully!!) The downside here is that owning to the low price i will not be able to employ the services of affiliates to help promote it as no one is going to help out for $5 a sale commission (if you are drop me a PM) I will have to make good use of online classifieds, home business and money online forums i think
If you place a upsell in the sales funnel where the affiliates get like 70% of a 47 dollar thing, than you will get some affiliates for it.
If you have really powerful content and useful information then you can consider selling it for $39.99 with clickbank, powerful sales copy and affiliate program ..... with having affiliate program you can have many affiliates selling your ebook ...and working with clickbank will get lots of affiliates.. but yeah before selling your ebook make sure you have some really good information in it ..... you should focus on quality...not quantity.... good luck
Couldn't someone pretty easily pirate a "get rich" ebook and then turn around and sell it like crazy?
Do a split test and offer it at price A and price B. See which sells better and then go with that price. Your shopping cart probably has instructions on how to do a split test.
