ok I am tyring to get this site going.. http://www.rockfootage.org I am using hitpulse to get traffic... which I get about 250 a day... with out hitpulse I get about 100 a day... I am getting like a click with AdSense every 2-3 days (not very good) and I am getting like NO-one ti sign up...... what am I doing wrong here??? atr
First of all I would change the header. And the text that says "If you enjoy using this free file hosting service then please". Finish the sentence. Also, don't make registration necessary. People will use yousendit or megaupload rather than your site as you don't need to register unless you send large files. Then put the uploader on the main page. Also, specify that you can host ANY types of files, not just rock videos, as when I read the name I thought you could only upload that type of file. Promote your site using stumble upon, myspace and facebook, and make posts on message boards linking to content uploaded by your site, all the while being relevant to the topic of conversation.
It says injoy in the site... When I see such obvious spelling mistakes, combined with the announcement of "Oops, everyone register again", it makes the site look unprofessional to me. Also, I dont know if it's just me, but the grey background on the adsense makes it hard to read. People won't click it if they cant read it One last thing, remove the registration for the site. Make it only needed if it's a huge file, or you want to keep track of your uploads easily.
Too many contrasting colors, way too much advertising, registration required, poor spelling and grammar...... I looked at the site for two minutes, and I still have no idea what the site is for. What's all the "rock files/footage"? Are people supposed to be uploading rock videos or is that just a name? Also, .org is for non-profit type companies. Not for uploading rock videos. I'd never use this site either.
stop using hit pulse for starters it will get you banned from adsense auto/manual traffic exchanges are not worth it its crap traffic use a social bookmarking tool and bookmark your website write quality articles and submit them to article websites write a press release submit to some quality web directories and dont think you can get a really good site without spending some money
