I'm just tired (whine) and I've been through many posts hoping to see the answer but maybe its a forest and trees thing but how long does it take to get some weight?

I'm a new site but indexed by google and I'm running ads on every page - 5 ads on every page (not that I have that many - 18 pages) and I figured that just for that you should have enough weight to have one ad appear once or something but I guess that's not how it works.

Is it all on pagerank or votes or how do you get out of the coop sandbox???

just a little reassurance that this endevor is worthwhile for me as well as the people that have weight enough for ads already.

Thanks, and please pardon the whine, I am just tired.

Lisa, have you thorougly read through the Unofficial Co-op FAQ? It's got lots of good troubleshooting information. Read the bit about the Google API keys, for instance, suppose that could be a problem. But, I do think you need more than 18 pages to start throwing some weight around... Remember also, only pages indexed by Google will count, and if your site is so new it doesn't show PageRank yet, that's certainly not going to help. Patience.

How many pages does the Google API say you have indexed? You can check that via the digitalpoint keyword tracker. You can have all your pages indexed via the "site:" command but the API may be different. One of my new sites returns 56 pages indexed in google but API says I have only 2:rolleyes:

I hadn't thought of the difference between the api and what it shows on the search engine. Ok, patience.

I guess I was under the impression that the point of this was to "help" you get your page ranked while you helped others at the same time.

I guess I'll take the ads down until my page is doing better.

Well, yeah, sorta ;) ...if you're launching a new site, and have weight to play around with (from your other sites), you can "point" all of that weight at your new site to ensure it gets maximum coverage on the co-op. But, if you have just one site, and its new, it's not going to help you much (for now)...
