Ok, No Images Next to Adsense. But What About Images On Top/Below of Adsense? Don't get it yet.

Like in the example above, what if we got rid of the Ad Units on the left hand side? Would that make it Adsense TOS friendly?

    Sincerely, glasshoper

I don't get it. I see three (3) AdSense ads in that picture. What would removing the left side ad have anything to do with TOS?

lol exactly. Some people do a sky scraper image, with 2 large rectangles next to the sky scraper. Not illegal I believe.

    I got a question about wisegeek.com.....

As far as I can see, Adsense stopped making the "text" part of the ads clickable. How does wisegeek keep them clickable? Not only clickable, but highlighted as you "mouseover"? Are they a premium publisher? Or altering the code? Just wondering...because alteration is definitely a TOS violation.

wisegeek also has that image right next to adsense. it's not against google TOS if you are premium publisher, i guess. :D

Well since the site is making google thousands every day I think they are a little more lenient.

Also, I am pretty sure in general that... that "rule" of no images or no "similar" ads next to google adsense ads... was/is to prevent 1. ad confusion.. i.e. things look so similar people just click everything.... and 2. people being enticed to click an ad via a picture etc.

I've used images near Adsense ads, without being a premium publisher, but I just make a slight but obvious separation between things.

I remember the time before 2006 when images near ads where allowed, we could reach very high ctr with this technique. It was good while it lasted :)
