OK in MSN,DMOZ,Yahoo, banned in G?

I bought a brand new domain name and put up a website about 4 months ago. It's a simple webpage that does not violate any of Google's guidelines. Yet for some reason, my site has now been banned in Google for no apparent reason.

I am not a programmer or professional webmaster. I'm just someone who decided to put up a website for the first time in my spare time. It's an amateur site, with no bells or whistles... just text and a few pictures. I'm not selling anything, the site is just there for public info...

The site never got indexed, and is now banned! (I have been informed by those more knowledgable than myself that this is indeed the case.)

I have read the Google guidelines to see if my site had perhaps violated any rules, but it hasn't. There is no "cloaking, rediecting, link farms, hidden text, doorways, duplicate content, etc... There is absolutely no "deceptive or manipulative behaviour".

I can't understand why Google would ban this site, when MSN, Yahoo and Dmoz (to name a few) saw fit to list the site in their search engines/directories...

    The site is Gmlemoncars.com

I would really appreciate any feedback... Thank you.

IMHO if you've only had the site/domain for 4 months, more likely sandboxed than banned.

    Thank you for the reply.

People have told me that they can tell that I'm banned because when you search my Url in Google, the following line is absent:

"If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.gmlemoncars.com"

If my site had simply not yet been indexed, the above line would be returned.

Definately banned mate! Perhaps the lawyers contacted Google for whatever reason. That's all I can think of. You certainly have enough backlinks from enough places to be in the index.

This is the exact case with my website indiadc.com
But I posted in google support groups. After few hours of my posting I saw google listing my website. But the next day again its gone.
The same way I am listed in yahoo, msn etc. and have enough backlinks.

How to approach this problem and understand what went wrong?

What!!??? Google gives into pressure from corporate lawyers?

I have a hard time believing that... But if that is true, then why aren't other sites similar to mine banned in Google?

There are a few other sites that are slamming GM that are listed in Google. Gmsucks.net is one that comes to mind...

    Any other thoughts?

So what if my site is against GM? The last time I checked, GM doesn't run Google, nor does GM have the authority to negate people's right to free speech... lawyers or no lawyers.

Anyway, why is Gmsucks.net not banned as well?

For that matter, why aren't the hundreds of other gripe sites not banned by Google as well?

You're probably not going to get any answers here that you are looking for. The best thing for you to do is to try contacting Google.

OMG! If Gmlemoncars.com has been banned in Google because of external influence, the implications are HUGE!!!

If anyone has any further input, please add to this thead.

I will attempt to contact Google to verify the reason for the ban. As soon as I receive a response, I will post it. (I won't hold my breath)

I digged up further in this regard. There are different theories by different SEO but one thing is very clear that they dont know for sure. But this is what I found out according to them:

    1. Google places new websites that claims for "popular keywords" in a concept called (SANDBOX - this is an imaginary concept), where they dont list your site (even domain names sometimes). This is to avoid website spam.

    2. It can take upto 6 to 8 months to get out of the sandbox. But the exact time frame cannot be predicted.

    3. If your site is banned the PR in the google toolbar will appear grey in colour for your website.

All this are only theories but nobody knows for sure.
Why can't google answer the public on what they are doing?
    I dont understand

Hi, your site is not banned. Google rarely ban sites. Type in the url in the google search field. Your site will show up.

Hint: If you wanna be able to see when your keyword rank jumps up, use Shawns keyword tracker:www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/

    Have a nice day!

Yes I followed the same process like openfire did also got the same replies from google. Now I find both my site (http://indiadc.com) and openfire's website listed on the google. Only thing is still mine carries old information.

I feel its sandboxed rather than banned !!
More over as India DC mentioned - if its banned the PR will show a grey bar which is not the case here.
