First off, if this is the wrong forum just call me stupid, but it seemed like the best one. Next, I use Front Page 2000 to create pages, I know I'm stupid, but that's where I started and my templates are there. (Note: a bit of smartness, I do edit the code to get rid of all the FP garbage that's created.) So here's my stupid question: When I go to open a new file it would go straight to the folder where my templates were which was very convenient, but now it goes to the 'My Webs' folder and I have to click a bunch of times to get where I want. Does anyone know how to set it so I can go to the folder of my choice when I open a new page? Thanks, Roman
I've never used Frontpage so I'm not familiar with it. But, I know that with most programs once you choose your files from one location, it continues to open that location each time by default until you change to a different folder. If that is not the case with Frontpage, maybe you could move your files into the My Webs folder?
Off-topic: Just wanted to say you should go easy on yourself. If some one doesn't like your question(s), it's their problem, not yours.
Yeah Roman, just take it easy I used Frontpage once 5 years ago and I cannot remember what I have done before LOL. Ok, I assume that Frontpage has the same setup (options) with other programs such as Words and Excel. So you might want to give the following a try: 1. Under your menu, go to Tools -> Options 2. There should be a tab called 'File Locations' (*Bless*) 3. Under this file locations, you can modify the default settings of the location to point to every time you want to open / save file etc. Does it helps? Call me stupid if it doesn't...
Just found this. It has the file locations thing for other Office products, but says that FrontPage can't be changed. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA010548541033.aspx You might have to change the registry to accomplish this..
Thanks, I did figure out how to open the folder I want when I open a file but I have to set it each time I restart FP, but it only takes a couple of seconds so it's not that bad.
