Ok, I'm at a loss...

Went public with my site about 4 months ago - http://www.scribi.com. At first, Google would index only my index page. Since then, I've:

    - Removed all JavaScript code to external files.
    - Cleaned up the HTML as much as I can
    - Used Apache's mod_rewrite to truncate the long, unwieldy PHP args to short args.
    - Subscribed to and implemented a sitemap.
    - Implemented a robots.txt file to keep the engines from futilely searching non-relevent suff.

The net result of this effort is Google has dropped me, completely - not even my index page shows.

Is this banned? I'm not sure what I can do about it, if anything. MSN and Yahoo have indexed me nicely, and I even come up first in a very specific query on MSN. I'm trying to figure out how to contact Google about it, and have wound up directed to the google groups support site.

Any thoughts appreciated. (I've also posted this in the Google support group forum.)

    Living in frustration-land,

You have no links to your site!

    I searched for backlinks:

    Google: 0
    MSN: 0
    Yahoo: 1

    Even MSN shows nothing.
    You need backlinks.

    hmmm not on google.com
My suggestion would be to add a sitemap and get your site submitted to a few directories, also have it in your profile and start a blog with at least one post :)

Yes, that has been a frustration, as well. I've tried submitting to about 5 directories, thus far, including DMOZ. Nothing. A big problem is finding a correct available category.

Thanks for thoughts. I'll keep on slugging away. At least MSN and Yahoo have me indexed pretty nicely. I even come up number one on a few (very) specific queries.
