I really need some help here. I cannot for the life of me get my site listed under simple keywords to get even remotely a decent rank in any search engine.. I just don't get what i'm doing wrong. I have plenty of content, the keywords are used often in my metadata.. I don't know how to improve it. I have no time for link building.. is there anything or service that can help my site get a decent ranking? I'm very frustrated.. and worried as 90% of my traffic comes from wikipedia and i don't want to have that as my source of traffic. my site is cmstester.com ~Mike
hello there i was in the same problem as you but i have an ebook for free on seo and you can use the information today Free Seo Ebook p.s let me know what if it has helped and good luck dude
First of all, sort out your CMS! All your site's meta descriptions are the same. Use AdWords to see what works (ad text). Next, your site is relatively new. It's going to take time to get into Google's good books. Your probably stuck in what some people call the "sandbox". Keep posting regular unique content. Keep building quality links. The day you come out of the sandbox, you'll know it Trust me, the flood gates open.
I have analyzed your site. I think you can do more better onsite for your site. Keep giving more informations to users on regular bases and ofcourse quality links.....
Even if you're pushed for time, dedicating half an hour every day / each evening will make a difference. The key is little and often rather than spending a mad 24 hours link building and adding as much content as possible just once a month. Focus on just a couple of keywords to start with but really try and build up those links. As I said, even with just half an hour you have time to use some social media. You could even start a blog and use that to raise your traffic and profile indirectly. What about posting on relevant forums as well to make people more aware of your brand? Try doing some PRs too and keep adding unique content to your site. Good luck!
you could start blogging and participating in forums as you are doing now. you could also go for article and directory submission.
You need to obtain a great deal of links via any source. On of the best is here doing what you are doing. Also, check out the www.domain.com vs. domain.com scenario Check out the common Title within your indexed pages
as said earlier you need to make time for your link building. There is only so much onsite optimisation that can be done, the rest is offsite. PS: Change the structure of the link in your sig so it has better anchor text, dont use your website name as the anchor text. instead use something like "CMS News and Reviews" best of luck
From your page source: <meta name="keywords" content="cms, content management system, blog, wiki, weblog, php cms, php, open source, opensource, php content management system, mysql, apache" /> What rank in the search index do you expect? Most of your keywords are naturally used by the suppliers of said products and since they actually supply products, they get tons of links from everywhere. Trying to compete here is pretty much a vain effort.
