I've also recommended friends to ASO (www.asmallorange.com for those who don't know what ASO is)...though several of them never signed up. ASO only accepts a certain number of new accounts per day, and when they reach that quota, they put up a banner saying "accounts sold out" or something like that. Anyway, a few people I referred to them got the sold out banner and thought it was weird and chose another host service. If an online business has just seconds to win a customer, telling them to come back tomorrow isn't the best way to showcase quality customer service.
I've been using IXWebhosting for a while. They're better than Hostrocket, I'll tell you that. Prices are great, dedicated ip / multiple domain accounts. I don't know... it works for me so far. I will say there has been downtimes, but for the last 4-6 months, I noticed 1 downtime.
I piggyback on racks for a company where I do third level admin work. They take away customers from Dreamhost and Hurricane Electric all the time because of bandwidth and hardware considerations. For example, all servers are on Gig-E drops. Ping me if that's the type of service you're looking for and you need a contact.
what are your requirements? I have a bunch of small sites and got tired of paying for hosting on each. So, I just got one of those hosting reseller packages off ebay. For $15 a month I've been hosting twelve sites with no problem. These are all small sites though.
www.allreseller.com has been okay for me, and good prices but I agree with the first reply,, u should look at WHT for this
Does ASO allow you to host multiple sites throught the one account? I see it say unlimited parked and add-on domains. What's an add-on domain? Looks like an intersting company. I may give them a try.
Which plan are you looking at? I have a SUPER plan, and that plan allows unltd. domains. They have an offer going on, pay for 12 months and get months free.
I found my answer in their support area. Add-on domains means having seperate sites on the same account. Thats what I am looking for. Will give the Orange guys a shot.
Elitehosts.com - very personal service and customer support. If you have a reseller with them they will get to know you on a first name basis. I started with a shared then moved and it was a great experience too, then I moved up to a reseller account.
You have made the right decision, i am sure you wont be disappointed. BTW, I dont have any association whatsoever with ASO.
So what is a reseller account? Ugh I am gonna have to leave Dreamhost. They alway seem to be down. If I have my own server what all do I need to do to host my own accounts?
