Oh No!! My Adwords ads are appearing on my site!!

I can't believe what i just saw, my own ads appearing on my own site!! Has anyone else experienced such a phenomena? One of my websites has adsense ads incorporated within and if the visitor does not buy my products, there's a slim chance that they click on one of my adsense ads and therefore bring me some small payback. The problem is, the last thing I expected to see were my own adwords ads on my page, linking the visitor back to the page they are looking at and I pay for the privielidge! Unbelieveable! I have my site in my competitor filter now in the adsense setup but this takes time to come into affect. I had also included my site in adwords for sites NOT to show my ads, surely there has been a mistake.

I have emailed google to let them know but I imagine it will take some time for someone to see the mail and reply/deal with it. I could be losing big money. Any other advice?

Yeah, did that on the first day of ads running, the system must be at fault surely. Thanks for reply though!

You can block the site. that way you are sure it won't happen again.

Also, block the few other sites that will not give you returns. No point in wasting money for useless clicks :)

Yea just block yourself and you're good to go. Stupid to have to do that though.

Another thing to consider, if you're willing to pay for clicks via AdWords is it really smart to show competitor's ads on your site? If you're trying to conduct AdWords/AdSense arbitrage then its understandable, but otherwise I think you prob don't want to display AdSense on your site.

change the google adword location or define the states where adword will show.

Yeah, I had done that from day one, but still the ads appeared, Google even emailed back this morning and confirmed that I had blocked my site so no ads should have appeared, but I spent quite a lot of cash in the time when I had not realised that my site was showing the ads... will never get that back thats for sure. As for the AdSense ads, I have blocked a lot of the competitors ads from showing and only show genuine businesses that strengthen the content of my site. The ads are well below the fold too, so if I am not going to get the visitor with the product that i am promoting (affiliate product) then theres one final chance to get them with an adsense ad at the bottom of the page... at least that was the idea anyway...

Google gets paid either way, if only we could find a way to take advantage of the ads showing on your own site, but that would probably be blackhat and i'm not into that kind of stuff.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll be looking out for this in my own campaigns.
