    Dude, you sound like your on acid. Did I miss something... they "will continue to support the stable phpBB 2.0.x and develop the next-generation phpBB 3.0.x" so what's all the fuss?

    The founder leaving a project always foreshadows a change... 99% of the time that change will be negative. Even if the founder is almost never there.

    Wow, maybe phpBB will become something bigger than it was. phpBB 3.0 is great and I want to see what they make of it.

    the guy has been gone for years hasn't he?...i don't really think this is going to make a bad difference...it's going into the hands of people who actually have the time and commitment to the project...sounds like a good thing to me.
