    Hi,

I heard many people opening Swiss, Norwegian, other offshore banks.
I personally don't have one but I'm really interested.
Do you have an offshore bank? What are the advantages of offshore banking?

    Thanks

Yeah your sig is an affiliate link, I really trust your honest opinion, lol!

Offshore banking is mainly to lower your taxes but can also be used for privacy and to protect against litigation.

It gets a bad rap due to a few bad eggs commiting illegal tax evasion. However, most people who have offshore structures are actually doing it perfectly legally.

For the average Joe who lives and works in his home country, going offshore is not all that useful, apart from hiding funds from the wife in case of divorce. But if you want to travel the world and can remote work or if you have a lot of money and want to leave as much as possible for your kids then going offshore can be very useful indeed.

If you are an American citizen, you will not be able to open any offshore banking anymore. Because if what the US did with UBS, soon every compliance officer in the world will refuse to accept new accounts for US citizen.
