What types of offline website marketing are most effective at gaining new traffic? I can only spread my website name to so many people through my own word of mouth. I can pray that others spread my site through word of mouth, but I can't advertise that. Has anyone here tried using car decals, billboards, magazine ads, radio, handouts, etc. with any benefit? Please share your experiences.
we tried posters and fliers, but there is no way to attribute our growth at that time with those efforts, maybe it worked maybe it didnt but we did it anyways.
For seller2551: you can measure the efficiency of the offline advertising by inserting some (simple) tracking code in your URL and see how many visitors (and even sales) you've had. As for the original question... it's hard to say which method is more fruitful until you try (and track results). If your business is a local one, I would suggest to try to get some coverage from the local media. make reporters want to speak about your business and website! If your website is atractive and so is your offer, you'll get some word of mouth too.
why would you go with offline marketing? it's useless unless you have a gigantic budget... one that would let you advertise to your local radio and TV station! stick with online media. it's much better, faster, cheaper and you can always tweak your result! that's what i think!
