Has anyone had success promoting your forum offline? Flyers, billboards, mail drops etc im considering some of these options... www.aussietravellersforum.com.au
I have not really ventured into offline marketing since there are simply too many ways to market a site even using online marketing only. But I have heard many successes in bloggers using flyers and banners to promote their site. There is even people who have site URL printed on their car as a form of advertising. However, you need to consider your market to see if it is suitable for offline marketing. If there is an existing company that is promoting the same product or services as you are, avoid doing it offline marketing then since they will have massive budget to play with. My advice is to do offline marketing if your market is not very competitive.
I think i might try a mass mail out, just done by myself, as that is free (or virtually free). I have done pretty much as much as i can online, and am now just in the waiting period for my link/s to be added to all the directories etc.
Offline marketing takes a lot more capital out of you and usually online campaigns are completely separate from offline campaigns.
Mine is a travel forum, and a lot of people in the suburb i live travel, so i might start there and see if i have any success...
