Offline marketing?

Would anyone think that offline marketing your websites/sqeezepages containing your hoplinks would be successful? Idk, something like printing low-cost flyers and posting them where your target niche and demographic would most likely appear.

Such as if you're being an affiliate for let's say a "hairstyles for prom" ebook and you decide to post flyers around information boards and kiosks where teens usually are. These flyers of course advertise your site/url and if a sale is made you gain commission.

Profitable? No? Shouldn't be brought up again or else be burned for all eternity :p? Discussion time!

I think it could work like you say if you have a squeeze/landing page so you can subsequently have your affiliate cookie sent through. Also I think you would need a punchy url. There really isn't any reason why it wouldn't - like if I hand out my business cards i know people will go to my website but typing in the url so if you target the right people who will be interested it's a possibility.

Agreed; a nicely named url would be an essential part to offline-marketing. I usually get turned off by websites with complicated names =S

That type of marketing has been used for years ...long before the internet was even thought about........

It has always worked.......effectiveness depends on product and market.......impacted by quality of the written material...
In my area I see small road side signs advertising a wide variety of products/services with prominent web addressees....

Some for local businesses and others for make money and dating sites...

Depending where you live you can have an offline campaign running... I'd go for it only in the US and Canada..

Flyers, postcards, advertising on match boxes, buying newspaper ads ... it should work.. Haven't heard anyone successful yet...

You'll also need a short domain name to advertise.. since there will be a lot of type-in traffic..

    something like ... GetSlim.com ... not sure if it's available :)

Would have to be a catchy domain name that people will remember.

I am 100% sure it works well, I can imagine TV or radio Ads will also help too

I started out by using personalized postcards to homeowners
who were selling their homes, for my home-selling website.
