I'm working on a few sites and was thinking of doing some offline advertising. Has anyone had any success with this? I was thinking of maybe placing ads in the local paper, weeklys, etc. It might get more impressions than PPC, but with advertising in print, it's not really targeted. Would it be cheaper to place an ad in a local weekly magazine that has great circulation, or PPC? So, anyone successful with offline advertising? Thanks
I think mail advertising is good, my friend send his ebok to 4 thousand people, and 400 bought it DD use w w w massmailsoftware . com /blog
Snail mail is not bad. Local hard copy advertising is great for IT companies, you can find many businesses that need contract work that way. Also, going to conventions and having a booth and passing out freebies and your business card is good.
I've had mixed luck with offline newspapers and such. I have only done it a dozen times or so though, and only placing a listing in my local paper(s). The first one was for an auto loan lending network CPA that paid like $25 for 5 line submit (first page). I set up a quick landing page that used an iFrame redirect blah blah blah...took like 10 minutes. Ran an ad for a week in the auto section badgering about no obligation 60 second application, get best deal having lendors compete for YOU!! (or something like that, this was like a year ago). Cost $86 dollars to run (in bold) for 1 week, and I made $600ish. I have repeated this process a few times since than, and not everyone of them was profitable, some have lost money, some have broke even, and some made a few bucks...maybe I should practice more.
Depends on your websites and what goods or services you're offering. My experience hasn't been good for newspaper ads etc...but that could be just the business I'm in.
