Hello, i am currently setting a new venture and am contemplating using offline methods to help boost my sign up numbers and would be gratefull of any information you could give with regards to offline advertising. what kinds of methods did you use did you find the cost of advertising to high offline what channels did you find most receptive to your adverts e.g newspaper, flyers etc. thanks in advance guys
i would start with online marketing because its cheaper and it could be more effective. theres a couple of offline methods that are effective but could be costly. postcard marketing (costy) magazine marketing (costy) drop cards (free and low cost) post it notes (free offline method)
I've just started my offline business too, and I found that newspaper ads brought a good amount of visitors to my site. I got conversions but not many, but with my service, 1 sales covered the cost of the ads so it won't matter how many are convert as long as I have minimum 1. I think newspaper ads is better than cold calling because prospects will find you, not you found them, this means that they think they need your service so it will convert better.
TV Ads? Local cables can provide this for low prices. Also, a banner on highway will do quite good, specially on a place with traffic signal/stop point. Not to forget one simple but effective advertising way -- fliers! Have one on your car/cap/shirt Good luck!
newspaper ads will be alot cheaper than it was in the past but still i would spend the money on newsletter marketing meaning solo ads or topsponsor ads. they would be alot cheaper and more effective than newspaper ads.
this is great, thanks for the info guys keep it coming. some ideas that i have come across involve stickers. just putting them around with the url on at bus stops etc. also putting easy peel off stickers on to money- coins and notes then by putting the money back in to circulation you may reach a few people. but i am not sure if you would get fined for this. especially posting stickers everywhere.
Depending on what your product is, you will want to market in the areas where the type of people who would buy your product frequent. It would be pointless to put stickers at bus stops if people who ride the bus wouldn't fit your product.
You would probably get much better responses if we knew what type of business and who your target market is.
I would first like to know what kind of business it is or industry to know what kind of offline methods to use.
Get free advertisement from local newspapers. Give them something unique and valuable and make them give you free advertisement instead. Every year millions of dollars worth free advertisement are given by newspapers and magazines. I know a guy who sent a discription about his book to one local newspaper and he sold more than 80,000 copies of his book. People read it like a story but it's actually advertisement of his book.
The most methods wins the 10 points, however detail on how to do the method out weighs lots of one liner answers.
Of course you need to give solid information that is useful, and at the same time you will blend your particular web business into the presentation.
it's a recruitment for a work from home method, since there is so much competition on the web i thought i would try my luck in the small classifieds. i have spent hours posting adds on line craiglist etc. and have had some luck but will always be hungry for more! this is why i thought i would try offline. so far i have looked in to local newspapers, magazines for both men and women. leaflet drops and an advert on my car. keep the ideas coming people. thank you all very much!
There are so many ways : Email marketing , Forum posts , Blogging , Blog comments , Article submitting , Press release , social media , Affiliate marketing .
One of the best is simply just walking into a store or a cinema or indeed any location where you think the product or service you provide might be useful, and giving them flyers, would involve some salemanship skills, and will give you a taste of the real world in terms of advertising
