I have an asians social network site, what do you guys think the best method would be to promote offline? here is a few ideas am thinking. 1. Sponser asians specific events 2. Go to asian crowed place and give out crossword puzzle game with a pencil attached to it (have logo and URL plastered on them) 3. Asian specific radio and tv stations and newspaper. What eles do you think will be more effective?
Walk into any Karaoke bar on the planet. Seriously though, the first option is one a lot of companies use. It's one of the methods Sprite used to really take hold in the market. Being someone that goes to Asian restaurants extremely often, I can tell you that advertising in the newspaper can be a plus, because they get read. You might be more effective if you segment the market. Asian could be Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Filipino (technically Pacific Islander), Thai and so on. Pick a group to start with and go after it.
I just starting to get into the offline marketing as well. There are a couple of groups on Yahoo that may help. I would also check MEETUPS another yahoo group. It's a good way to learn what's going on in the community. You can also check your local area for Asian business associations.
The second option sounds great. You can give the winners some goodies, like T-shirts or Hats/caps to wear. When they wear 'em you get more publicity! ~G
Go stick posters on buses and public places ... I know its like "offline spamming" ...lol but might just work!
You can do what Myspace did, just hold parties and use your program as the center piece of those parties.
