YPN is the current name - not sure what it stands for - Yahoo Publisher Network maybe?

Talkig about this topic here too: http://www.vbwebmaster.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346

I think its going to be great and give Google reason to pause and not be so high and mighty. Yahoo can give them a good run and MSN cant be far behind.

Anthony... You need to stop trying to wind people up... It's a complete waste of everyone's time.

I'm gonna give the Y! thing a go I should think...

I'm pretty sure I got an email about it yesterday but didn't bother to look all that much...

    YAY FOR COMPETITION!

the question is this: will Yahoo! be able to give the same good related search result ads as Google which resolve in a high payout? I don't mean to be negative but looking at their algo I get a little discouraged

But we're talking about something completley different.

I'm sure that Y! has the ability to scan a page, then serve ads related to it's content...

Most of the opther publishing networks available already have the ability to do this, but as a result of not having enough advertisers, the ads come out looking lame.

I have no doubt that Y! will get enough advertisers on board to make the program work.

I hhope the include preference settings where yuo either choose:

    - Contextual Ads
    - Themed Ads
    - Demographocly Relevant Ads

For many pages it's BS to get competitor ads on you pages where it would be much better and make much more sense if you either get a similar theme ad (so not quite the same as the topic of your page) or ads that appeal to the audience you attract in general.

How they would know the demographics is another question, but I'm asure they can work it out.

My earnings have been up all this month and yesterday I completely smashed my old daily record.

This is making me think twice about diluting the results with a new advertiser..

I've installed it this morning; we had an invitation to test it. Probably because of our Overture spend. And guess what?!

    It says 'Ads by Yahooooooo'

    How cheesy is that?

    J/k

Not allowed to make it public yet unfortunately.

The account centre unfortunately resembles Overture's hence not as smooth and clear as Google tend to build it. Reports are more in-depth than AdSense's inc. average pay-out's etc. so that's definitely a positive. It seems to update every 5 hours or so and there's a Yahoo toolbar plug in to get some basic earning stats from a drop-down. Still j/k :). Just having some fun with you guys on my birthday!
