I have a little interesting data on what the cutoff point for counting inbound links for update Jagger was. I have two domains that I registered during September, built websites for & began link pop campaigns for. They both recieved PR's of 3. It seems to me that the cutoff point couldn't have been any before the end of Sept, prob later. Anyway, for whatever it is worth to y'all, just thought I would pass along this info.
this site went live on September 22nd and reached a PR 5 on the first page with PR 4 on others. www.directresponsesecurity.co.uk
my site registered on 02 sept, and got PR3 too. I awaiting it will be equal 4 but... only 3. What's so strange in it? thats OK!
My site Went online Sept 28th and Got PR 4 on Inner Pages, Google this time didnt pass PR to 301 Redirect. Strange.
Was that inside the site, page.html > file.html, or from one domain to the other? If the second, were you redirecting each file to the new domain and file, or just everything redirected to the home page of the new domain? I read a few other posts where PR was passed. Perhaps when you set up the 301 maked a difference? Tell us more.
I've been out for about 2 weeks... and just noticed today that my site went from a PR 6 to 7... finally! Also, one of my other sites went from a 0 or 1 to a 5 and another went from 5 to 6. But, the last two are not the big of a deal to me, just the first one. Interestingly though... traffic seems to be down slightly starting on Saturday, we will see how the numbers hold out for today. Not a huge decrease, but every decrease means less adsense clicks.
Man this sucks... somehow achieved a PR of 4 and good Google rankings for my site without even really knowing what I was doing and now that I've actually started t oput some effort in I've dropped a to PR3 and fallen off Google's radar. Geez.
Umm i started new few months back. So this is kinda my 1st pr update. The new site went from 0-3,4 with internals as well 3,4,5 . Didnt expect such great results for such less time. I guess Job well done....now...da mission is to maintain and increase this PRs. Regards, Admans.
Am I reading correctly, that your internal pages have a higher PR than your main page? Were you building external links to those pages? Would you share the URL - PM me if you don't wish to post it...
Same thing. When we were still concerned with PR we struggled our arses off to get it on our sites, except for one, which was there as a sort of portal page. We did no SEO work to it at all, but suddenly it had a PR4 the last update. Ah, but that's life. Murphy's Law, and all that
To P: Yes, I like you got all excited when I suddenly saw the PR ranking go up. I thought I had finally 'got it right', but if anything, the traffic has gone down. I know a higher PR does not necessarily mean more traffic, and I think it is on what keyword phrases the site is getting a high PR ranking for. But if you choose keywords that are not so highly searched for, then no matter how high a PR you get, you still will not get anymore traffic. So back to the 'drawing board"
I've got a site like that, the video game midi site in my sig. Pr2 homepage pr4 main internals pr3 secondary internals. Should be no external links to any of those pages. Odd but should do well for me in lv.
I had a site like that for a little while too, then it changed after the next PR update. It is the first link in my signature.
