You know, it sounds like a lot of people have had their PR's go up and so I ask the question as to whether it means anything. The point of the PR is to be high in your area of interest and so if all your competitors go up too, then you're right back where you started. Its like when the company I work for changed their salary bands from 8 to 10 and my salary went from band 4 to 5 and so it seemed like an increase but its really not.
I think Google employees are doing this to play around, so they can come to DP and can laugh at some of the threads
I finally saw my pr go up this morning. I have one site which went to a pr 5 and I have two other sites that went to pr 4. I'm very pleased. Hard work does pay off.
Interesting! My website PR as follows: malaysia-islands.com: from PR 3 to PR 4 malaysiahotelreview.com: from PR 0 to PR 5 adsense-success.com: from PR 0 to PR 5 I do NOT have many back links, but my contents are 99% original smile.gif Thank you google for recognizing people's hard work.
my44, original content has nothing to do with PR, unless people decide to link to it because it is original. Has nothing to do with number of links either. If a PR6 page links to you, you can be a PR5 with that single link.
I have to say that a client of mine has been languishing at 4 for ever. This update he is 5 and I'd say that was thanks in the most part to Sandwalker.
OK thanks! I read from somebody's post that the new algorithm is crediting sites with original contents. I believed it straight away because originality is what I strive for. My adsense-success.com site has 1 real backlink (I think), and I doubt it's from a PR 6 site. But if really Jagger is not about original content, then what contributes to the sudden increase in PR? (from 0 to 5)
My site www.partyislands.co.uk has a front page PR rating of 3, however the internal links outweigh the default.asp page with a rating of 5. Not quite sure how that happened. Probably need to sort out my linking structure?
Same with MikeW. My internal pages are pr5 and pr4 but the home page is still pr1, i think the PR update is not stable yet.
