The question that has boggled the minds of internet marketers since the inception of the world wide web, do you Direct Link to your Affiliate's Landing Page or do you Link To Your Own Personal Landing Page??? Wouldn't mind hearing some of the pro's and con's of each method..
There is nothing secret.I do both and I make sales on both.It depends on how you market and what product, if your landing page sucks then its better to use direct link putting an official logo which would works much better.
Good question and I can't wait to read the results. I have been direct linking for the same reason...I need to learn how to build good landing pages.
I find that when doing a PPC and my destination url is a redirect to the affiliate's landing page I get very low Quality Scores, and Google starts charging me alot for keywords with no competition?? Have you guys noticed this as well? This is one of the main reasons I think I will start writing my own reviews on my personal sites and have my PPC Campaigns link directly to my page. When doing a personal landing page do you have a "More Info" link or something like that, that takes the user to the affiliates landing page? Or do you guys just try to convert yourself and link only to the checkout cart?
yes control is key, you might be able to beat the products sales page if you know how to presell ... being able to control the content can boost your quality score lowering your costs per click, which can make you more profitable in the long run. yes, making a LP is more work, but potentially more profitable check out my blog I'm doing a series on landing pages right now on Day 9
If you didnt get my free landing page report that I was asked to put together for warrior forum's new affiliate marketing course, you can get it here www.izude.com/wso.html People put way too much effort into landing pages. A landing page's job is to reassure the searcher that they should consider getting whatever. The searched because they are interested. You reassure them that they should be interested. The merchants sales page does the rest. Just my 2 cents
I start with direct linking. Then if the product sells I will put in the effort to make a landing site.. The results of the poll are 50/50 so far
If I am trying a product for the very first time, then I use direct linking just to test the waters to see what my conversion rate is. If I am happy with the results, then I purchase a domain name and create my own landing page to pre-sell the idea. I find that landing pages convert better in the long run but if the product shows no results in the beginning from direct linking, I won't waste my time and money on a domain name and landing page.
