Vic Darchinyan fought to a controversial draw with Filipino Z Gorres on Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Cebu City in the Philippines despite knocking Gorres down four to five times during the IBF super flyweight eliminator bout. New Zealand referee Lance Revill ruled knock downs as slips and slips as knock downs. Angry boxing fans threw bottles into the ring during the bout causing the chairman of Games and Amusement to admonish the crowd. Gorres accused Darchinyan of fighting dirty.
