    Thanks Mario ...

I think most of us knew already that removing PR is almost impossible....

But your post will surely help clearing doubt from few minds. :)

I thought the issue was showing the actual PR of a page to the public and not the PR system.

Its silly to the point of laughing how rumours get out of hand to start with. Like people starting new threads completely based on figmentations. While i would not take this thread as gospel either.

What if i started a thread saying i have a friend in google that said all directories will be excluded from google pagerank in future updates?

Would you all quake in your boots? rofl

    Not surprised..

The funny thing is that while all those opinions and discussions are going on in forums and blogs, there are folks that saw PR update.

Good news for most, I am sure. Thanks for confirming that the nasty rumour about Google PR going to be dropped is untrue. Green rep coming your way :)

If people weren't so focused on pagerank, but rather more important things such as 'traffic', then the impatience of an update would not spawn such ludicrous remarks and/or roomers.

But why would anyone want to buy PR irrespective of whether they remove it or not? Its worthless to all but the high PR sites and thats why these "rumours" got started in the first place.

It maybe near and it might be not, actually there is always a buzz about its updating and its not and stuff like that!!

Google loves to creat a buzz all of a sudden by updating it and than making us wait for 3-4 months...

@OP: If you're sure enough about that PR won't be eliminated, why not use the inside sources about when the update is:p lolz

Look, at least the op has a valid reason to state this, all everyone else is doing is denying the only piece of information that is available on this topic.

As for me, i don't believe that PR will be eliminated at least in the next 1 or 2 years.

The OP knows and i know BUT I was kidding:p

Gooogle has to introduce any other ranking metric if they eliminate PR, i am sure they won't atleast!
