I just think google is grasping at straws right now. They know that MSN is on their tails and they need to find a way to pull back in the webmasters that have given up on them. If their egos dont allow this, most employees at google will be looking for work. Google just from a company standpoint has been on a spending spree and IMHO has spent way to much money on aquiring new companies. We have all seen in the past a new and upcoming company spend to much money to fast on other ventures and now these companies are nowhere to be found. I for one think that google should drop off the face of the earth. No matter my personal feelings google will be their own demise.
I agree. What I did was just to submit the form without filling out those fields, and it went through... maybe they’ll ask about them later, but they were for sure "not required" fields. And yes... $20 can be very low, if you consider the amounts of money spent/produced by a good advertiser/publisher. As an example, a couple of months ago, I referred a website owner to the AdSense Program, and he made $20k the first month. It's good the program wasn't available then... I would have been very pissed if I would have gotten just $20 for that kind of referral. It should be a percentage as in most programs. .
interesting, who the biggest Adword/Adsense advertising competitor would be for the affiliates? And how to compete with them.. yeah I think if someone outranked them on the keywords could make quite a few $$$
Nope, not AdSense. They have a beta program now for referring people to AdWords or Adsense: http://www.google.com/referral/ Looks like they might be offering direct deposit for it too. At least, they ask for bank account info in the application.
They replied to my application saying that "This program is currently in limited release and available by invitation only.", and that they would contact me in the case they decide to expand the program in the future. Who knows... maybe it'll come out of the lab sometime. .
Haha, Same reply. I responded and have been having some conversation with one of the employees there. They are just in testing phase and it is by referral only.
They don't mention that in their Referral FAQ . However... I should have read it before applying, as they do say: And I applied from a non-US based website. Please keep us in mind if they finally approve you, and if they allow you to send invitations. .
By Invitation Only. If you have not received an invitation but would like to be notified of changes to the referral program, you may complete this application. Code (markup): it's on the main form page now. I hope this doesn't take as long as g-mail to fight through beta.
Oh ya.. if it takes as long as gmail does, well, lets just say it probably wont be in my lifetime Hehe, I got the same reply. Josh
Referral program for AdWords/AdSense where you get $20/referral. http://www.google.com/referral/ Still in beta. By invitation only. I don't have invites. Does anyone have this ability?
This was open free game for anyone who wanted to sign up a week or so back. They they made it invite only. I think they are probably hand selecting people at this point so most will probably get denied. With Google, you never know what they are going to do next... KG
Just so people know google has been approving applicants. I just got approved and just need to fill out 2 forms and fax it back. I am surprised that the forms could not be filled out online though. I always forget how to use a fax machine - usually takes me 2 or 3 tries to get it to go through!
Yep... same here (and also a few other people I know), looks like they blasted all the approvals out at once.
