I'm pretty sure you have it wrong. The postcard will almost definitely have a link to the business where the owner will just have to click on a button to approve the changes. Do you honestly think Google would do everything via snail mail?
I haven't heard anything yet. Come to think of it, I don't even think I got a confirmation email recognizing the sign up. Did anyone get a confirmation email? Morty
I think business ownders will be quite happy to confirm their businesses listed with Google. Free advertising...
They do do it by snail mail. I've submitted businesses to Google Maps in the past and yes they send the confirmation by snail mail. Sometimes and in some areas they will do it by phone but I think they might be doing less of that and relying more on snail mail.
I saw this this morning when on google maps. A lot of people saying its too much work aren't thinking about how easy this would really be. Stop by a strip mall with 10 businesses, take a few few photos, talk to a manager, upload the info on your laptop, walk next door and start over. You could knock out 10 businesses in a couple hours easy.
The program is awesome if you do have an something else to sale to these businesses. As someone stated earlier, you get paid to do your cold calling. When did this officially launch?
