    You can hold the money in your adsense account by yourself, its an option (in the accounts settings page), have to do before 15th of the month. But, its bit risky, as if googel suddenly ban your account, you will lose all the balance money. So, its not advisable to hold the money, unless for any specified reason.

    Google seems to have learnt a lesson from last months issues, many of us got cheques on 8th, they might have decided to issue the cheques couple of days earlier, expecting to have it in bank account by 5th of Sep.
