Offering rebate to your site's visitors

    Hi guys,

I recently spoke with a friend of mine who is quite successful with CB. She has a large site and sells tons of CB products. Anyway, she offers rebate to her visitors.

I have a site that is content rich and has many returning visitors; I don't want to overwhelm them with links to products so I was thinking of doing the same thing: offering rebate (out of my own commission) if they buy the product. Does this sound like a good idea?

    Thanks

It's a great idea assuming you can earn their trust. I would offer the refund to them after the 60 day refund period so you aren't screwed.

Yes, this is allowed and it has been going on for quite some time. Some affiliate marketers actually offers prizes or freebies for person who bought under them. All the buyer needs to do after the purchase is to contact the affiliate. :)

Offering bonus is fine but offering rebate is against the clickbank policy.

CBbox is right. You can offer bonuses, but you can not offer rebates. The customer is also not allowed to ask for a refund based on whether they actually receive the bonus or the quality of the bonus.

I occasionally offer bonuses for products I promote. I automate this with Fast JV. It's a pretty amazing script. Someone orders through my link and then enters their receipt number into the box set up on the site. I don't have to do any of the work for them to receive their bonus.

    Taken from Clickbank TOS:
"You agree to make no such promotions promising customers rebates, coupons, tickets, or vouchers in connection with their ClickBank purchase."

don't offer rebates, you'll get banned, you're cheating the system

Here is a good example of someone breaking this rule, The user breaking this rule is CBbox, and this is his signature:
"The Best Affiliate Marketing University - Wealthy Affiliate
Let me know if you want to join, I can give you $5 rebate."

Basically he's using unfair methods to take away sales from all us legitimate affiliates, I'm sure buyer will buy a product which offers a rebate over the same offer without a rebate.

hey, it's one thing to introduce a rule...
but it's totally other thing if and how you are going to APPLY that rule :p (by "you" I mean clickbank).

Ripped, you're right the buyer will almost always buy the thing from the one who offers the biggest incentive.

dude, this is not a clickbank product.Have you ever heard of ebates, there are tons of other websites who give rebates.I'm not breaking any rules or policy of the merchant. You better stop pointing on others and mind your own business.

It doesn't matter, all affiliate companies have this rule, and you're breaking it. You had a website in your a signature few days ago which stated something like:
"I'm giving a rebate on all clickbank, amazon etc. etc. products, contact me before you buy this product so that I can give you the link to buy it from"
    You're a fraud dude!!!
I don't remember your website address

"The Best Affiliate Marketing University - Wealthy Affiliate
Let me know if you want to join, I can give you $5 rebate".

This is called an incentivized offer - many affiliates do it - however NONE are allowed to offer actual monetary value rebates.

Basically if a product costs $100 and the aff payout is 50% - I know I'll make $50. Well now I can offer '$40 off rebates' and corner the market - even though it's now only $10 in my pocket I'll get volume now and probably a big list...

This is very petty 'dude' - I thought you were one of the good guys too...

OK, guys, I didn't mean for this to turn into an argument

I can't offer rebate but I can offer a bonus if I have master resell rights on it, right? A bonus is not the same as rebate, well, not in terms of CB. Now I am even more confused
